The best time of the tapping of gum is November to March and the gum collected must be properly dried.
The major problems of Gum Arabic production are: poor quality seeds/seedlings, difficulties associated with its
establishment, diseases, pests and drought.
Gum droplets are manually collected in intervals during the dry season from 5 – 25 year- old trees.
The first crop is usually done in November – December and second crop (lower in quantity) is carried out in February – March.
